Autumn Re-opening Update

Dear All,

It’s been a while! Apologies for the silence during this hiatus, but we hope you’ve been well.

I thought it was best to give an explanation to the delay, and also a timeframe of our upcoming submissions window.

On 19th April, my mum unexpectedly passed away. So my spring and summer was mainly occupied with funeral arrangements and all the affairs that a sudden passing entails. These issues are still ongoing.

In July, Moyette also suffered a family bereavement.

During the summer, we said goodbye to some of our mentors, all for various reasons: some are taking on new jobs within publishing, others have left the publishing industry altogether. Many more mentors have taken hiatuses due to maternity leave and caring responsibilities. So our mentors have also had to manage heavy workloads!

Due to the above, we have been unable to organise writing events, but I would like to resume these very soon.

Onto the big news: as we source new mentors, our submissions window will open on 2nd October 2023 and will close 11th December 2023.
