BGW x Sharma Taylor Agent Query Workshop!

Our final event of the summer will be with debut author Sharma Taylor. Sharma was part of the first cohort of Black Girl Writers, and thanks to her mentor, she was signed to an agency and landed a book deal by the end of 2020.

Her debut novel, What A Mother's Love Don't Teach You, is a startling family drama set in her home country of Jamaica. It's available now!

For this workshop, Sharma will be discussing the behind the scenes process of getting published: editing, writer/agent relationships, submission process from agent to publishing house, how she landed her 2-book deal with Virago, and will also include a full query letter tutorial.

As always, we'll have a Q&A afterwards so we can really pick her brains and get the honest truth about this crazy process!
